Assisting in the movement of people who cannot move by themselves is not a simple task. Often, it can result in serious injury or disability of a Carer or employee dedicated to assisting other people and their manual handling needs.
We assess all manual handling requirements to move a person from their bed, wheelchair, floor, commode and chair. Working with yourself and Carer support staff within your environment, we ensure that our recommendations are practical and meet everyone’s needs.
After visiting your home, we recommend and train Carers in the safest manual handling methods using “no lift” principles, and incorporate mechanical aids as required. A detailed pictorial manual handling plan is then developed for Carers, to ensure consistency and continuity of care.
If you would like to book and appointment for one of our Occupational Therapists to visit you for an assessment, or just find out more about the service, please contact our office on (02) 4340 0883.
