Barbara is an accredited Occupational Therapist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Register Agency (AHPRA), Medicare Australia, and is a member of Occupational Therapy Australia (OTA).
She graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) from the University of Western Sydney in 2001 and later completed her Certificate IV in Assessment and Training.
Barbara obtained her clinical experience working across various of fields and settings, including Workers Compensation Scheme, Comcare Scheme, NSW Motor Accident Authority Scheme, and Life Insurance. Later, she developed her own private practice, offering comprehensive occupational therapy services that address disabilities, paediatric requirements, and aged care.
Barbara runs Living Strength Occupational Therapy with a strong focus on delivering the best client centred service to meet customer needs, however once her laptop powers down in the afternoon, it’s time to connect with her family and friends. Whether it's cooking up a storm in the kitchen followed by watching a family movie, or simply walking or riding their bikes to the park, spending quality time with family and friends is her top priority!
Jozef Luka has a Bachelor Degree of Law and a Diploma in Graphic Design, but through his volunteer carer work overseas, his interest in supporting people with disability became his main priority.
He commenced his first role as a Support Worker for a non-for-profit organisation in Australia and was quick to build rapport and respect with the clients and their families.
Over the years, Jozef moved from Support Worker to Senior Service Manager before moving to Operations.
Jozef is known for his commitment to providing quality services to participants, their families, and the community. He has strong leadership skills and focuses on building and maintaining a vibrant supportive team to deliver essential services to meet individual client needs. He has a consistent track record of employing business practices that improve efficiency and increase productivity, whilst providing quality customer service.
Jozef has demonstrated management experience over the past 20 years in the disability sector and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Living Strength Care arm of the business.
Miriam is an accredited Occupational Therapist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Register Agency (AHPRA) and is a Team Leader at Living Strength.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) from Newcastle University in 2018.
Miriam wanted a career where she was able to help people in practical ways and loves that as an occupational therapist, she is able to engage personally with each client and holistically evaluate how best she can assist them improve their independence, safety and quality of life according to their goals.
Miriam is afraid of pretty much every non-domesticated animal.. and some domesticated animals too! She loves painting, puzzles and going for walks to cafes with her husband.
Chelsea is an accredited Occupational Therapist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Register Agency (AHPRA).
She graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) from Australian Catholic University in North Sydney in 2017.
Chelsea has always wanted to be in a profession where she could help people, and when one of her family friends introduced her to occupational therapy, she was hooked! She loved how inclusive occupational therapy was of a persons whole life, rather than just one aspect and loved the idea of being able to help people achieve their goals.
In her spare time, of which she wished she had more of, Chelsea really enjoys sewing and knitting.
Eleanor is an accredited Occupational Therapist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Register Agency (AHPRA), and has a basic Auslan ability.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) from the University of Newcastle (Honours) in 2021.
Eleanor is proud of the fact that she completed her degree during the pandemic and is excited to be working with Living Strength! She has always known that she wanted to work with people and in health but did not know in what capacity until one day, an occupational therapist told her that when you see a speech therapist they are in a lovely skirt and heels, but when you see an occupational therapist they are in jeans and converse because they are getting their hands dirty. This helped in making her decision!
In her spare time, Eleanor loves to sing and enjoys performing in musical theatre.
Lexie is an accredited Occupational Therapist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Register Agency (AHPRA).
She graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) from the Australian Catholic University in 2020.
Lexie has always had a passion for caring for people and wanting them to get the most out of life but it wasn’t until she was 24 that she realised that the best way of doing that was to become an occupational therapist.
As part of her current role at Living Strength, Lexie has been able to expand her knowledge as an occupational therapist by working with the NDIS and by doing so, she has a new found confidence that has helped her in becoming a more effective therapist.
Lexie loves spending time with her partner and dog and enjoys going to the beach, bike riding and going on bush walks.
Jenny has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy and is a member of the OT Association of Australia (Professional Association for OT’s).
Her experience, extending over 20 years, includes hospital-based rehabilitation, injury management, palliative care, community-based rehabilitation, workplace-based rehabilitation and Occupational Health and Safety with NDIS, DVA and private clients.
Jenny has a passion for working with preschool and school aged children, conducting programmes for fine motor and gross motor groups skills as well as conducting school assessments.
Krista studied the University of Sydney and obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) degree at the end of 2020.
She has been practicing as an Occupational Therapist since February 2021, and has experience working with clients through the NDIS, Department of Veterans Affairs, and community organisations.
Krista became an OT because she is passionate about helping people to achieve a better quality of life and to help them accomplish the daily activities that they want or need to do that are often taken for granted. She particularly loves to work with older adults to help them be able to stay in their own home, as well as working with children and adults with physical and other disabilities.
Krista is an avid gymnast that used to compete in State and National level gymnastics!
Lisa is a qualified Occupational Therapist that obtained her Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) degree at the University of Sydney in 2013.
Lisa worked as a community support worker for 10 years and has always loved being able to help people but felt she wanted to do more. It wasn’t until her mum became unwell that she realised just how amazing OT’s are! It was OT's that enabled her mum to stay at home and remain as independent as possible for as long as possible. After her mum passed away, Lisa decided to go back to university and become an OT so she could help others do the same and has been happily working in the industry for 7 years.
Lisa loves walking her greyhound Ralph, and fostering other greyhounds until they find their forever homes. She plays netball and enjoys crocheting and doing macrame for some quiet time. One of Lisa's biggest achievements is climbing Mt Kilimanjaro and hiking to Mt Everest Base Camp!
Nathan has completed a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy at WSU-Campbelltown and a diploma in remedial massage.
Nathan has worked as an OT for 8 years and comes to Living Strength from the hospital sector. He specialises in neurology and rehabilitation and is eager to make a difference in the community by helping individuals who are vulnerable, disadvantaged and receiving minimal therapy.
Nathan enjoys forming close relationships and takes a positive approach to patient care in order to empower them to achieve optimal outcomes.
Outside of work Nathan enjoys spending time with his family, riding his dirt bike, gardening, fishing, soccer and taking long walks with his wifey and dog. Nathan has been to Malta where he completed his field work experience as an Occupational Therapist student for 3 months.
Sarah is an Administration Assistant with a degree in Business and Human Resources and comes to Living Strength with a 10 year background as an Executive Assistant.
She has always wanted to work within the healthcare industry as she saw this as her way of helping people and Living Strength has allowed her to fulfill that dream!
Sarah loves being outdoors and finds it difficult to sit still for too long. Her happy place is the beach and her favourite past time is swimming.
